Doctors

Sally Shaw

Dr Sally Shaw   M.B., B. S., Dipl. Obs. Dipl. ACSCM.
Sally is one of the founding members of the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine.  Sally has been instrumental in establishing standards for skin cancer practitioners throughout Australia.  She holds a diploma in skin cancer medicine and surgery and has attended a Master Class of Dermoscopy with ACSCM. Sally is experienced in all types of skin cancer surgery including flap surgery, grafts and non surgical skin cancer ablation. 

Dr Vanessa Haller M.B.,B.S., B.Med.Sc., B. Sc.(Hons)
Vanessa who is the other enthusiastic partner of Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre, moved to the peninsula 20 years ago. Vanessa continues to work in general practice and diving medicine in Carrum Downs. She has extensive training in skin cancer medicine and regularly attends conferences and surgical workshops.  She holds a certificate of skin cancer medicine with ACSCM.
Dr Katrina White Dr Katrina White MD, CCFP, FRACGP, Dipl. ACSCM
Katrina has practised as a rural GP in Canada and Australia before joining the Peninsula Skin Cancer Clinic 2 years ago, when she moved to VIC after volunteering for the bushfires. Katrina has since then done extensive training in dermoscopy and skin cancer surgery and holds a diploma of skin cancer medicine with ACSCM. She also continues her work as an Emergency physician at Rosebud Hospital and provides ongoing GP/skin cancer care to the community of Kinglake.



Melonographers

    Christine Brumby is the newest addition to the team of Melanographers at Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre. Chris comes from a health science background, working in allied health for ten years and is currently completing her Master of Applied Science at RMIT. Chris has firsthand experience of the effects of melanoma having a strong family history of the disease. It is this personal experience that has given Chris the interest in this field and the push to join our team at Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre.

Sue Dixon
  Sue Dixon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and has worked in Anatomical Pathology for twenty one years. Sue has been a member of our team at Peninsula Skin Cancer centre for over five years. Sue’s acute knowledge of skin cancer pathology, coupled with her enthusiastic and dedicated approach to her work makes her a valuable part of our team here at Peninsula Skin Care Centre.

  Pam Read began working with one of the leading Dermatologists, Dr Shan Edwards in New Zealand in 1997. Pam has trained with dermatologists and specializes in melanoma and skin cancer detection and surveillance. Since coming to Australia in 2004, Pam was the first Melanographer to open Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre with Dr Sally Shaw and Vanessa Haller. Pam has used her experience in the field to further train and expands our team here at Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre.
  Sharee Rayner joined the team at Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre in 2008. Sharee holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and has a special interest in cell biology, photography, skin cancer awareness and education. Since becoming a member of the team Sharee has worked at the clinic and has recently developed an educational skin cancer awareness program that may be presented to groups and clubs within the community setting.

Nurses

Jane Homberger Jane Homberger has been a dynamic addition to the Peninsula Skin Cancer Centre team since early 2010, assisting the Drs with procedures, wound care, and management of the theatres. With her training in dermoscopy, Jane also works as a melanographer on occasion. She is currently studying to complete her graduate certificate in practice nursing.
Emma Clapperton Emma Clapperton is the newest member of our friendly team and has had experience in pathology and aged care.  She will be working in theatre whilst assisting the doctors during procedures.  She completed her enrolled nursing at Holmesglen in 2010.
